• Manage and direct the work of staff professionals involved with all aspects of financial transactions including accounting and financial reporting functions. Ensure that the staff is operating efficiently, accurately and that good communications is constantly maintained.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax preparers and consultants to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Keep abreast of new technical accounting developments to ensure compliance. These include accounting pronouncements, auditing standards, tax laws and regulations. Train staff in technical accounting issues and methods.
• Establish, review and update procedures and policies relating to the areas of responsibility.
• Interact with the Senior Leadership Team to determine service and financial information needs as well as financial planning and operational data requirements.
• Special projects including financial reporting and analysis. Participate in the development of innovative financial management tools.
• Ensure the financial system and all supporting systems are closely and accurately linked and current with applicable technology upgrades.
• Seeks continuous improvements in the processes and methods for areas of responsibility.
• Serves as primary functional lead for the financial system.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting required. CPA certification and/or advanced business degree highly preferred.
• Minimum seven years of progressive responsibility in an accounting, finance or auditing environment. Minimum five years of supervisory responsibility.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and systems experience. Strong experience with spreadsheets, word processing and other office software. Experience with major ERP systems applications and implementation.
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills with comfort in dealing with people at all levels internally and externally. Ability to function as a team player who can interact with others at all levels to accomplish goals in an efficient, productive and collaborative manner.
• Strong analytical skill, detailed oriented but able to focus with a broader perspective of the business and operational concerns of the organization.
